What up!

As first reported by ALL ACCESS six weeks ago (NET NEWS 9/1), RAWLCO Smooth Jazz CHMC (MAGIC 99)/EDMONTON has flipped to a "soft pop/rock format," after receiving CRTC approval for a format change to a "middle-of-the-road" format incorporating Smooth Jazz back in the beginning of SEPTEMBER.

The station will brand as "up! 99.3 FM."

VP/GM KURT LEAVINS said the playlist will include ROD STEWART, MICHAEL JACKSON, THE BEATLES, SHERYL CROW, FLEETWOOD MAC and THE EAGLES, among others.

The station is "specially designed to make the listener feel good," said LEAVINS. "If it makes you feel good, up! 99.3 will play it. You'll only hear the top hits by the world's biggest superstars. Listeners will know every song. That's it, in a nutshell."
