TREVECCA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY is selling Religion WENO-A/NASHVILLE to RUSS JONES' ANCHOR BROADCASTING for $335,000.
ANCHOR presently leases Regional Mexican WNVL-A (LA NUEVA ACTIVA 1240 AM)/NASHVILLE from DAVIDSON MEDIA, and brokers JOHN PIERCE AND CO. say that WENO will "most likely have an urban gospel format."
H D NUNEZ, INC. is selling Tejano-Country KJTZ/STAMFORD, TX to TEXAS GULFWEST COMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION for $303,000, including $3,000 already paid to the seller for use in operating the station, plus forgiveness of a $300,000 APRIL 23rd, 2004 promissory note.
In another filing with the FCC, CHERRY CREEK RADIO has asked for a silent STA for the SANTEE, CA booster of Top 40 SAN DIEGO move-in KSIQ (Q96)/CAMPO, CA (formerly in BRAWLEY). The licensee says that the booster, which serves the heart of the population core in SAN DIEGO, went silent when the T1 link failed on OCTOBER 22nd, and that the station's personnel "are troubleshooting to determine the cause of this problem and to restore KSIQ-FM1's service as soon as possible."
And BUTLER BROADCASTING CORP is asking for an extension of its Silent STA for WPRN-F/LISMAN, AL, which went dark due to financial troubles on MARCH 26th. The licensee says that it "is currently working on plan to put (the) station back on the air but needs additional time."
Also, EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION has closed on the sale of FM translator W249BZ/GREENSBORO, NC to TRUTH BROADCASTING CORPORATION for $35,000. The station will simulcast Religion WTRU-A (THE TRUTH)/KERNERSVILLE-GREENSBORO. GENE FERRY served as exclusive broker for the deal.
