The UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS is buying the construction permit for noncommercial KJVL/CHANUTE, KS from GREAT PLAINS CHRISTIAN RADIO, INC. for $22,855.
In another deal filed with the FCC, PAUL C. STONE's COOSA BROADCASTING CORPORATION is selling WSRM/COOSA, GA to JAMES SMITH's ROME RADIO, LLC for $275,000.
And EDWARD DE LA HUNT, SR. is selling the construction permit for WBKK-A/WILTON, MN to EDWARD PAUL DE LA HUNT's BEMIDJI RADIO, INC. for $30,000.
New AM Proposed For Prescott Valley, AZ
RAMS I has applied to the FCC for a new AM at PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ. The station would run 800 watts daytimes, 800 watts during critical hours, and 250 watts at night on 1330 AM using two towers.
KSOX Sale Closes
The BORDER MEDIA BUSINESS TRUST has closed on the sale of Sports KSOX-A (FOX SPORTS RADIO 1240)/RAYMONDVILLE-BROWNSVILLE-MCALLEN, TX to VISION HISPANA INC. INTERNACIONAL for $250,000 cash. The trust is headed by broker LARRY PATRICK as trustee, and PATRICK COMMUNICATIONS' GREG GUY served as broker for the deal; the buyer is headed by HECTOR CARRIZALES and is expected to flip the format to Spanish Religion.
K.C. Translator Sale Closes, Too
PENSACOLA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE has closed on the sale of FM translator K209EC/KANSAS CITY to COMMUNITY BROADCASTING INC. for $35,000. GENE FERRY of GENE FERRY AND CO. acted as exclusive broker for the deal.
