Santa's 2010 Big Christmas Music List

Happy Holidays!

The holidays have come early to a number of markets this year, with ARTISTIC MEDIA PARTNERS Oldies WSMM (OLDIES 102.3 THE STREAM)/SOUTH BEND being the first -- flipping to all CHRISTMAS music on OCTOBER 19th.

Here's the list of all the stations who've flipped so far:

* 10/19 ARTISTIC MEDIA PARTNERS Oldies WSMM (OLDIES 102.3 THE STREAM)/SOUTH BEND officially becomes the first station to flip the format to all-CHRISTMAS music. As of YESTERDAY (10/19) at 2p ET, THE STREAM is now NORTH POLE RADIO and is playing CHRISTMAS music 24/7 now through DECEMBER 25th.

* 10/28 ARTISTIC MEDIA PARTNERS Classic Rock WSHP (THE ROCKET)/LAFAYETTE, IN became the second station to go all-Christmas before Halloween. 

* 11/1 EQUITY COMMUNICATIONS Urban Adult WEZW/ATLANTIC CITY switch to all-CHRISTMAS music.

* 11/1 WILKS BROADCASTING AC KCKC (STAR 102.1)/KANSAS CITY flipped on the CHRISTMAS lights to become "KANSAS CITY's CHRISTMAS STATION."

* 11/1 CLEAR CHANNEL Country KHGE (BIG COUNTRY 102.7)/FRESNO is also in a CHRISTMAS state of mind.

* 11/1 GALAXY COMMUNICATIONS turned on its holiday lights at AC WZUN (SUNNY)/SYRACUSE, Hot AC WUMX/UTICA, NY and Oldies WTRY/ALBANY.

* 11/2 PILLAR OF FIRE Christian AC WAKW (STAR 93.3)/CINCINNATI became "THE TRI-STATE'S OFFICIAL CHRISTMAS MUSIC STATION" when it flipped to all CHRISTMAS music last week FRIDAY (10/29).

* 11/2 REGENT AC WBZZ (BUZZ 105.7)/ALBANY, NY hangs out the tinsel in THE CAPITAL DISTRICT.

* 11/2 TOWNSQUARE MEDIA Soft AC WTRV (100.5 THE RIVER)/GRAND RAPIDS makes the move in CENTRAL MICHIGAN to an All-Holiday presentation.

*11/4 CITADEL KOSY (KOSY 106.5)/TEXARKANA, TX hangs up their stockings.

*11/5 CLEAR CHANNEL AC WSNE (COAST 93.3)/PROVIDENCE, RI makes their list and checks it twice.

*11/5 BONNEVILLE AC KSFI (FM 100.3) becomes SALT LAKE CITY's "HOLIDAY HEADQUARTERS."

*11/9 MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS Adult Hits WWSY (95.9 THE VALLEY)/TERRE HAUTE gets the WABASH VALLEY in the CHRISTMAS spirit.

*11/9 TRI-COUNTY BROADCASTING Full Service WXYG-A (540)/SAUK RAPIDS-ST. CLOUD, MN visits Santa.

*11/9 CAPITOL BROADCASTING AC WRAL (MIX 101.5)/RALEIGH, NC goes gift-shopping just after THANKSGIVING.

* 11/10 CLEAR CHANNEL Hot AC WMVX (MIX 106.5)CLEVELAND has hung up the mistletoe and has launched an all holiday music format.

* 11/11 CBS RADIO AC WLTE (102.9 LITE FM)/MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL has flipped to wall to wall CHRISTMAS music programming as of 12:01a CT this morning, and will continue to bring the TWIN CITIES holiday sounds through DECEMBER 25th.

* 11/11 ENTERCOM AC WSPA (MAGIC 98.9)/GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG, SC has pushed the SANTA button and gone all CHRISTMAS as of 6a this morning (11/11).

* 11/12 CLEAR CHANNEL AC WLIT (93.9 LITE FM)/CHICAGO plugs in their CHRISTMAS lights and will flip the switch at 8a TODAY (11/12) on its all-holiday-music format.

* 11/12 MIDWEST FAMILY BROADCASTING Hot AC KOSP/SPRINGFIELD, MO flips to all CHRISTMAS music and offers "CHRISTMAS CASH" for their "SONG OF THE DAY."

* 11/12 CLEAR CHANNEL Country KSD (THE BULL)/ST. LOUIS has flipped to Country Christmas starting TODAY (11/12) at 3p (CT) until DECEMBER 26th.

* 11/12 CLEAR CHANNEL AC KRBB/WICHITA flipped to the all-holiday mode.

* 11/15 CITADEL AC WLEV/ALLENTOWN is celebrating the season by broadcasting non-stop holiday music now through CHRISTMAS Day. "One of the things people like most about this time of year is hearing CHRISTMAS music on the radio, especially the holiday classics they grew up with," said PD LAURA ST. JAMES. "We’re proud to be THE LEHIGH VALLEY’s Home for the Holidays!"

* 11/15 COX EZ Listening KRTR-A/HONOLULU is kicking off the holiday spirit TONIGHT (11/15) with DELILAH.

* 11/15 CLEAR CHANNEL AC WMJJ (MAGIC 96.5)/BIRMINGHAM joins the growing list of all-CHRISTMAS music stations. ROB CONRAD, from the New MAGIC Morning Show with ROB and JEANNINE, said "We play CHRISTMAS music on MAGIC 96.5 because it sets the stage for the CHRISTMAS season in BIRMINGHAM. People love it!"

* 11/15 CLEAR CHANNEL AC WNIC/DETROIT has thrown the CHRISTMAS switch and begun playing all Holiday music. They're also giving away "CHRISTMAS cash."

* 11/15 CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Hits KJR-F/SEATTLE becomes SEATTLE's Holiday Music Station, flipping to all-CHRISTMAS music.

* 11/15 CBS RADIO AC KVIL (103.7 LITE-FM)/DALLAS has hung up the mistletoe in the BIG D.

* 11/15 FLINN BROADCASTING WLPG-LP (THE PIG)/MEMPHIS kicked off continuous CHRISTMAS music on SUNDAY (11/15) at noon.

* 11/16 CLEAR CHANNEL Smooth Jazz KMYT/TEMECULA, CA shelves the format for the holiday season and flips to all-CHRISTMAS music.

* 11/16 REGENT AC WJYE (96.1 JOY FM)/BUFFALO bring CHRISTMAS joy to WESTERN NEW YORK by flipping to all-holiday tunes. The station is also offering their regular mix online, for those not in the spirit just yet. 

* 11/16 ENTERCOM Hot AC WTSS (STAR 102.5)/BUFFALO puts the CHRISTMAS star on top of the tree and flips to all-Holiday music.

* 11/16 CLEAR CHANNEL Smooth Jazz KMYT/TEMECULA, CA shelves the format for the holiday season and flips to all-CHRISTMAS music 

* 11/16 CLEAR CHANNEL AC WHOF/CANTON, OH has dipped into the CHRISTMAS punch bowl by playing all-holiday tunes TODAY.

* 11/17 TODAY during the BRIAN SIMMONS afternoon show on CLEAR CHANNEL AC KOST (103.5)/LOS ANGELES, REPRISE recording artist MICHAEL BUBLE' made a surprise in-studio appearance and convinced BRIAN to flip to Holiday music a few days earlier than planned. This marks the ninth year that KOST has served as LOS ANGELES' OFFICIAL HOLIDAY MUSIC STATION

* 11/17 CLEAR CHANNEL Oldies WLAN-A (AM 1390)/LANCASTER will be known as "Your Hometown Christmas Station" through CHRISTMAS day.

* 11/18 ENTERCOM AC WRVR (104.5 THE RIVER)/MEMPHIS PD JERRY DEAN tells ALL ACCESS, "Wanted to let you know that WRVR is celebrating 10 years of playing continuous CHRISTMAS music for the MID-SOUTH by flipping to all CHRISTMAS music this morning!"

* 11/18 Starting TODAY (11/18), CBS RADIO Classic Hits WODS/BOSTON is all holiday, all the time with all your favorite CHRISTMAS and holiday favorites.

* 11/18 WEAZ RADIO AC WBEB (B101-FM)/PHILADELPHIA is now "PHILADELPHIA's CHRISTMAS STATION."  B101 will also give listeners the option to listen to their regular Soft Rock programming on their HD-2 CHANNEL.

* 11/19 At midnight (11/19), BEASLEY Adult Standards WJPT (SUNNY 106)/FT. MYERS, FL became "THE CHRISTMAS STATION" with an all Holiday-themed music that will continue through midnight on CHRISTMAS DAY.

* 11/19 CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO/PITTSBURGH OM DAVID EDGAR tells ALL ACCESS, "At 5a this morning we turned on the CHRISTMAS lights at 3WS."

* 11/19 CLEAR CHANNEL AC WLTW/(106.7 LITE FM)/NEW YORK continues their annual holiday tradition by playing nothing but CHRISTMAS music effective immediately through DECEMBER 25th. 106.7 LITE FM is also giving away $500 for listeners and $500 for the charity of the winner’s choice through the "Stocking Stuffer Song of the Day," weekdays during the commercial free hours from 8:20a-9:20a and 2p-3p.

*11/19 FEDERATED MEDIA Hot AC WMEE (MIX 97.3)/FT. WAYNE, IN became "YOUR HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, FT. WAYNE's ORIGINAL AND OFFICIAL CHRISTMAS STATION."

*11/20 SARKES TARZIAN, INC. Hot AC WAJI (MAJIC 95.1) became FT. WAYNE's "OFFICIAL CHRISTMAS MUSIC STATION."

* 11/22 While a station flipping to all-holiday music in NOVEMBER is about as uncommon as falling autumn leaves in a forest, there's a dollop of intrigue with the FRIDAY (11/19) flip of COX heritage Rock WHDR (93ROCK)/MIAMI. Its website, which has scrubbed any mention of its on-air staff, announces that "CHRISTMAS Has Come Early ... We're On Holiday ... A Better Party Begins Soon!" 

* 11/22 COX RADIO Hot AC KSMG (MAGIC 105.3)/SAN ANTONIO switches to all-CHRISTMAS music this morning at 7a.

* 11/22 COX Hot AC KRAV (MIX 96)/TULSA has done the all-holiday boogie, announcing "CHRISTMAS Announces Exclusive Partnership With KRAV."

*11/22 After giving listeners a taste of CHRISTMAS music over the weekend, CAPITOL BROADCASTING AC WRAL (MIX 101.5)/RALEIGH, NC decides to flip to "THE TRIANGLE's OFFICIAL CHRISTMAS MUSIC STATION."

*11/22 At 12:01a this morning, ENTERCOM Hot AC WMYX (MIX 99.1)/MILWAUKEE began playing all CHRISTMAS music.

*11/22 CBS RADIO AC WDOK (SOFT ROCK 102.1)/CLEVELAND officially flipped to all CHRISTMAS music for the 11th year in a row.

*11/24 TRUMPER Top 40 KMVA (MOVIN' 97.5)/PHOENIX went All Christmas as THE VALLEY's CHRISTMAS MUSIC 97.5 at 5p (MT) TODAY. Without mention of the MOVIN' 97.5 moniker, it would seem that an after holiday flip will take place.

*11/24 For the sixth consecutive year, HORIZON BROADCASTING AC KLTW (LITE 95.1)/BEND, OR will adopt an all-holiday music format on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 26th. LITE 95.1 will celebrate LITE CHRISTMAS through CHRISTMAS DAY.

*11/25 SIMMONS MEDIA Country KEGA (101.5 THE EAGLE)/SALT LAKE CITY has flipped to all CHRISTMAS music, beginning THANKSGIVING DAY (11/25) through CHRISTMAS (12/25). Regular programming will return after CHRISTMAS.

*11/29 SALEM Christian AC WFSH (104.7 THE FISH)/ATLANTA flipped to all CHRISTMAS music near the start of THANKSGIVING weekend. 

*11/29 SALEM Christian AC KLTY/DALLAS made the switch to all CHRISTMAS music for the holiday season. The station is also holding "THE 94.9 KLTY CHRISTMAS WISH" promotion in which listeners can email their CHRISTMAS wishes or nominate a CHRISTMAS wish recipient. 

* 11/29 On MONDAY (11/22), JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP Hot AC KSRZ (STAR 104.5)/OMAHA, NE flipped to "THE CHRISTMAS STATION" playing OMAHA's Holiday favorites.

* 11/30 CLEAR CHANNEL Spanish Top 40 KTZR (MIA 97.1)/TUCSON is wishing you a Feliz Navidad -- in two languages, going all-CHRISTMAS, but including many English language tunes.

* 12/1 LOTUS Classic Hits KHIT (107.1 KHITS)/FRESNO is celebrating Feliz Navidad, having flipped the all-CHRISTMAS switch -- but in Spanish. Look for a new format to debut after the holidays.
