ESPN Radio Finds New Home In Pittsburgh

ESPN RADIO will have a new home on the dial in PITTSBURGH as of JANUARY 1st, as CLEAR CHANNEL Sports WBGG-A (FOX SPORTS RADIO 970) will pick up the affiliation being dropped by ESPN Sports WEAE-A (1250 ESPN), which previously announced a flip to RADIO DISNEY affiliation.
The new ESPN RADIO 970 will air the ESPN lineup and PREMIERE's JIM ROME, plus continuing local shows "THE LOCKER ROOM" with former STEELERS TUNCH ILKIN and CRAIG WOLFLEY (10a-noon (ET)) and JOE BENDEL (4-7p (ET)).
"We are excited to be able to move the legendary ESPN RADIO brand in the PITTSBURGH market to the 970 AM frequency" said CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO/PITTSBURGH Pres./Market Manager DENNIS LAMME, "It will further enhance the hold CLEAR CHANNEL has on the PITTSBURGH sports scene."
ESPN RADIO Exec. Dir./Affiliate Sales JIM ROBERTS said, "We are thrilled to enter this partnership with CLEAR CHANNEL/PITTSBURGH allowing us to seamlessly transition from our current place on the dial to our new home at ESPN RADIO 970. We expect the combination of national and local studio programming, and play-by-play events, to create a 'Golden Triangle' of great sports listening for the passionate PITTSBURGH fans."
