CALVARY RADIO NETWORK, INC. is selling Religion WTMK (CALVARY RADIO)/WANATAH, IN and FM translator W240BJ/CROWN POINT, IN to OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY for $130,000.
In other applications to the FCC, RADIO POWER INC. has asked for a Silent STA for FM translator W276BH/HOLLY SPRINGS, MS. The reason given for taking the station off the air is that "the current economic climate does not make it possible for the translator to cover the costs of station operations."
RANDY MICHAELS' RADIOACTIVE, LLC has asked the FCC for another extension of a Silent STA, this one for KJLN/SAC CITY, IA. As in the company's other Silent STA filings, "inadequate long-term staffing and programming resources" was cited for taking the station dark.
And PROGRESSIVE BROADCASTING SYSTEM, INC. has also applied for an extension of its Silent STA for FM translator W291BQ/PLYMOUTH, IN. The company told the FCC that "due to financial considerations" it "cannot afford to keep this translator on the air at this time." The application says that the licensee intends to bring the station back on the air "as soon as the funds needed become available and in any case prior to MARCH 27th, 2011."
