FCC Ups Sarah Whitesell To Media Bureau Deputy Chief

FCC Chairman JULIUS GENACHOWSKI has upped Media Bureau Associate Bureau Chief SARAH WHITESELL to Media Bureau Deputy Chief. WHITESELL joined the Bureau in 2005 after working in several other positions at the agency, including Associate Chief of the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Analysis, Associate Chief of the Cable Bureau, Acting Legal Advisor to Commissioner JONATHAN ADELSTEIN on media issues, and Legal Advisor to Commissioner GLORIA TRISTANI for common carrier issues.
"SARAH's extensive experience in media and telecommunications will continue to serve the Commission well in her new appointment," said GENACHOWSKI. "She will play a key role in promoting a vibrant media marketplace that serves the information needs of the American public."
GENACHOWSKI also announced that his Senior Advisor on Broadband, PHOEBE YANG, is leaving the Commission in DECEMBER to join THE ADVISORY BOARD CO.
