SERVICE BROADCASTING Urban KKDA (K-104) Dir/Programming MICHAEL ERICKSON has tapped GEOMETRIC MEDIA consultant GEORGE COOK to be its new PD. COOK replaces former PD SKIP CHEATHAM, who exited earlier this year.
“I found what I was looking for. A leader with an extensive skill set that compliments his musical instincts,” said ERICKSON. “GEORGE COOK stood out from a strong field of candidates, and with his addition to the team, K104 is now ready to achieve the highest levels of success.”
COOK’s career path includes programming stops at WKYS/WASHINGTON, WAMO/PITTSBURGH, WWWZ, CHARLESTON, WWBZ/CHARLESTON and KJMS/MEMPHIS.
“I am honored and excited to join K104 as its new PD/Brand Manager. I want to thank the senior management team, MICHAEL ERICKSON, STEVE WATKINS and Owner HYMEN CHILDS for entrusting me with this unique opportunity,” said COOK. “K104 is an authentic, real-time relevant hip hop brand that is beloved by its listeners and fans in the DALLAS Metroplex. I look forward to helping the brand become more dominant in its position by creating the most engaging content and listener experience possible at every touch point.”
COOK is expected to begin his new duties on or about DECEMBER 1st.
