WEQX Officially Turns 26

Nearly 1K Raised For Foodbanks

NORTHSHIRE COMMUNICATIONS Alternative WEQX/MANCHESTER, VT-ALBANY, NY officially celebrated its 26th anniversary as an independently owned-and-operated Alternative radio station on SATURDAY (11/13). 'EQX listeners donated a total of $988 at the "EQX 26TH BIRTHDAY BASH" to benefit THE VERMONT FOODBANK AND THE REGIONAL FOODBANK OF NORTHEASTERN NEW YORK. 

The birthday celebration included a weeklong A-Z on-air retrospective and culminated in the benefit concert SATURDAY NOVEMBER 13th at NORTHERN LIGHTS in CLIFTON PARK, NY. The show with DELUKA, TRAVIS GRAY, TEN YEAR VAMP, THE VELMAS, LUNIC and PHILLIPS HEAD (featuring WEQX's JASON IRWIN) performing a set of originals and a set of their favorite 'EQX songs of the last 26 years. Covers included songs from MUSE, JIMMY EAT WORLD, CAMPER VAN BEETHOVEN, THE CLASH, FOO FIGHTERS, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, LIT and JEFF BUCKLEY.
