More changes are affot at TRIBUNE Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO, with the weekend schedule being revamped this time. Weekend hosts JERRY AGAR (4-7p SATURDAYS, 3-6p SUNDAYS) and SHAWN WASSON (noon-4p SATURDAYS, noon-3p SUNDAYS) have exited; AGAR continues as the 9a-noon host at ASTRAL MEDIA Talk CFRB-A/TORONTO. WGN is bringing back "SPORTS CENTRAL WEEKEND," hosted by former CHICAGO BEAR GLEN KOZLOWSKI and ALEX QUIGLEY, for 4-6p SATURDAYS and SUNDAYS, while QUIGLEY and AMY GUTH's "CHICAGONOW RADIO" magazine-format show is being converted into a general talk format and moving from 9a-1p SATURDAYS to 1-4p SATURDAYS and SUNDAYS.
In addition, DEAN RICHARDS gets an extra hour on SUNDAY morning, and NICK DIGILIO's SATURDAY show moves up from 9p-1a to 6-10p; DIGILIO drops his SUNDAY night show. "EXTENSION 720 WITH MILT ROSENBERG" shifts from weekdays to SUNDAYS 10p-Midnight, and "WGN WEEKEND" (SATURDAYS 9a-1p and 10p-Midnight) will be hosted by various staffers.
"The goal of WGN weekends is to make our programming more relevant, warm, upbeat, and all CHICAGO," said VP/GM TOM LANGMYER. "The lineup will better fit with the mindsets of our weekend listeners as well as be fun to listen to. Bringing KOZ back to the station and adjusting our other shows will help us accomplish that."
