CAPITOL/NASHVILLE trio LADY ANTEBELLUM played their first hometown headlining show in AUGUSTA, GA on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15th. The trio, including NASHVILLE native HILLARY SCOTT and AUGUSTA natives CHARLES KELLEY and DAVE HAYWOOD, performed two sold-out shows and received multiple honors from the community of AUGUSTA, including a newly designed amphitheatre to be named in their honor.
LADY ANTEBELLUM PAVILION will seat 6-7,000 fans, located in the new EVANS TOWNE CENTER PARK. The park broke ground on OCTOBER 22nd and is slated to open in the summer of 2011. AUGUSTA Mayor DEKE COPENHAVER presented LADY ANTEBELLUM with keys to the city and named a nearby street “LADY ANTEBELLUM Way” for the day.
LADY A performed a sold-out midday acoustic show at the BELL AUDITORIUM, raising nearly $15,000 for the MCGHEALTH CHILDREN’S MEDICAL CENTER. While in town, the trio also presented three teachers from KELLEY and HAYWOOD’s former high school with $1,000 each in school supplies from OFFICE MAX on behalf of the national “A Day Made Better” school advocacy campaign.
