CJRT-FM INC. Jazz CJRT (JAZZ.FM91)/TORONTO has named market veteran JOHN DONABIE for mornings 6-10a (ET), starting TODAY (11/29). DONABIE, who replaces RALPH BENMERGUI, exited crosstown ASTRAL MEDIA Talk CFRB-A (NEWSTALK 1010) in OCTOBER as part of that station's revamp of its weekend schedule. His new show will include daily appearances by musician and CJRT host JAYMZ BEE.
"There is nothing more satisfying that getting up early each morning and doing something that you love. JAZZ.FM91 is a radio station that I have listened to and supported for years. Knowing I will help start everyone's day with the music of DIANA KRALL, PAT METHENY, OSCAR PETERSON and more, is reason enough. Bantering with JAYMZ BEE; and news from TIM KEELE and the BBC, is a bonus. I am truly excited about hosting the new morning show, at this very special radio station," said DONABIE.
"We are delighted to welcome JOHN DONABIE to the JAZZ.FM91 morning show. He brings an optimistic, fresh and relatable voice to the mornings and I know our audience will embrace this exciting change," said CJRT President and CEO ROSS PORTER.
