Altoona Looks To Fine WRTA-A Owner

HANDSOME BROTHER INC. Talk WRTA-A/ALTOONA Owner/GM DAVE BARGER said he'll "fight a complaint filed by the city of ALTOONA that he failed to improve the station's downtown property," reports WJAC-TV 6.

The city claims BARGER hasn't made improvements to his property, including paving a parking lot, landscaping and erecting a fence and outdoor lighting under a 2006 agreement with the city, and is looking to fine the station owner $8000. .

BARGER told the ALTOONA MIRROR that the city "should be happy we're there and paying taxes. If that's the way they want to play the game, we're going to engage." He added that because of his frequent criticizm of city politicians, it "wouldn't surprise" him if he was targeted, but stopped short of making that accusation.
