HOWARD STERN responded to SIRIUS XM RADIO CFO DAVID FREAR's comment that the morning host may have to accept a pay cut with a new contract by telling his audience TUESDAY, "I am not taking a f--king pay cut. Why would I have to take a paycut?"
Angrily asking, "Who is this guy to say this in public?," STERN, whose last live show of the year is scheduled for DECEMBER 16th and whose contract expires at the end of the year, insisted that he would tell his agent to demand more money and pointed out that FREAR got a raise in 2008.
FREAR told investors at a conference MONDAY that the company is looking to get "more favorable economic terms" for renewals of its long-term contracts, and mused that STERN could decide he didn't want to get up as early in the morning or might want to do the show someplace else.
