Reports Say Aretha Franklin Is Battling Cancer

The NATIONAL ENQUIRER has reported and FOX O&O WJBK-TV (FOX 2)/DETROIT says it has confirmed that legendary singer ARETHA FRANKLIN is battling cancer. The ENQUIRER said that FRANKLIN is battling incurable pancreatic cancer, but FOX 2 said it could not confirm the specific type of cancer she is fighting.

FRANKLIN recently canceled all concerts through MAY 2011 and underwent surgery last week for a then-undisclosed illness; a statement released last THURSDAY by the singer read, "The surgery was highly successful. God is still in control. I had superb doctors and nurses whom were blessed by all the prayers of the city and the country. God bless you all for your prayers!"
