KODA Hanging On To Some Holiday Listeners, Ditto For KSBJ
While most stations that play all-Christmas music struggle to maintain their cume swell after the holidays, CLEAR CHANNEL AC KODA (SUNNY 99.1) has fared better than most, posting an 8.2 P6+ share and #1 ranking in HOUSTON-GALVESTON in FEBRUARY. While SUNNY was as high as 12.7 during the HOLIDAY period, the 8.2 in FEBRUARY was well above OCTOBER and NOVEMBER’s shares (6.9 and 6.7). SUNNY’s FEBRUARY cume also showed some staying power, as it was higher than it had been pre-Christmas music. RADIO ONE Top 40/Rhythmic KBXX (97.9 THE BOX) was #2 (7.1) and CLEAR CHANNEL Alternative KTBZ (94.5 THE BUZZ) tied with RADIO ONE Urban AC KMJQ (MAJIC 102) at #3 (5.5)
While SUNNY appears to have maintained some of its Christmas-fueled listening, KSBJ EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION Contemporary Christian KSBJ is on a roll (see Snapshot Trends below), adding on to growth during the HOLIDAY and JANUARY ratings periods. KSBJ was up in every key demo in FEBRUARY, making the biggest move from #11 to #6t P18-49.
