SBS Buys Another TV Station, While Sacramento AM Station Sells For $1.39 Million

SPANISH BROADCASTING SYSTEM is adding another TV station to its portfoilo, buying independent KTBU-TV (HOUSTON'S 55)/CONROE, TX-HOUSTON from U.S. FARM AND RANCH SUPPLY CO., INC. for $16 million. SBS President/CEO RAUL ALARCON said, "HOUSTON is a leading U.S. Hispanic market and this transaction is an ideal expansion of our MEGA TV footprint, given the rapidly growing national Hispanic population." The station will be the second owned-and-operated TV outlet of SBS' MEGA TV network, joining WSBS-TV/KEY WEST-WSBS-CD/MIAMI.
In other filings with the FCC, DIAMOND BROADCASTING is selling Gospel KRJY-A (REJOICE 1240)/SACRAMENTO to RADIO SANTISIMO SACRAMENTO, INC. for $1.39 million.
FNX BROADCASTING, LLC is selling WPHX-F/SANFORD, ME to ANDREW HARTMANN's ARUBA CAPITAL HOLDINGS, LLC for $1 million. The station presently simulcasts sister Alternative WFNX/LYNN, MA-BOSTON.
EDGEWATER BROADCASTING, INC. is selling FM translator K260AR/SOCORRO, NM to IHR EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING for $2,700.
And K-5 COMMUNICATIONS is buying out partner JASON BETIT's 50% interest in EPCOT BROADCASTING,LLC for $10,000. The deal gives K-5 100% in 80s Oldies WAMS-A/OCEAN CITY, MD and W286BB/OCEAN PINES, MD.
