The MINORITY MEDIA AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS COUNCIL's MMTC BROADCASTING LLC is selling temporarily silent WTOC-A/NEWTON, NJ to RADIO VISION CRISTIANA MANAGEMENT for $46,000. The station, formerly Oldies, was one of the stations donated by CLEAR CHANNEL through the ALOHA STATION TRUST to the MMTC; the station went silent this week in preparation for RADIO VISION CRISTIANA taking over with an LMA and switching to a Spanish Religion format. The buyer owns Spanish Religion WWRV-A/NEW YORK.
In other filings with the FCC, EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION has applied for a Silent STA for FM translator W220DM/PARMA, OH. EMF told the Commission it took the station silent due to interference concerns and is looking at options to return it to the air, including changing frequencies.
And EMF has also applied for a Silent STA for K224DK/FONTANA, CA, saying that the station received an interference complaint from AMATURO Adult Hits KJLL-F (PLAYLIST 92.7)/FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA and is applying for modifications to eliminate the interference.
