The fourth annual SUNSET STRIP MUSIC FESTIVAL (SSMF), held last weekend in WEST HOLLYWOOD, attracted 15,000 music fans, making this year's event the most successful so far. The fest concluded with a performance by MÖTLEY CRÜE.
The three-day festival launched THURSDAY, AUGUST 18th with a special CRUE tribute hosted by BOB BUCHMANN of KLOS and KENNEDY of 98.7fm. Guests such as RAY MANZAREK of THE DOORS, comedian DANE COOK and NEW YORK DOLLS vocalist DAVID JOHANSEN shared stories and memories with the band, toasting them for their contributions to the SUNSET STRIP and praising them for 30 successful years of rocking. MÖTLEY CRÜE was then presented with the ELMER VALENTINE Award.
Throughout the weekend, live performances were held up and down the infamous 1.6-mile stretch of street at venues such as THE VIPER ROOM, THE WHISKY A GO-GO, THE ROXY THEATRE, THE KEY CLUB and THE HOUSE OF BLUES, among others.
