Veteran CLEAR CHANNEL Hot AC KBIG (104.3 MYfm)/LOS ANGELES midday host KARI STEELE has been named for middays at sister AC KOST (103.5). STEELE will help to co-host mornings with MARK WALLENGREN while his current co-host KRISTIN CRUZ is away on maternity leave. She will then take over her own 10a-3p weekday show upon KRISTIN's return.
KARI STEELE commented, "I’m so thrilled to have the opportunity to return to a radio station with so much heritage and success. To be part of the KOST family again means so much to me both personally and professionally."
According to Head of AC Formats of Clear Channel Radio LA, ANDREW JEFFRIES, "KARI has been one of our many shining stars here at CLEAR CHANNEL/LOS ANGELES and having her take over the reigns of KOST 103.5 is such an important part of our future plans. She’s a genuine dream player to have on our team. She’s super experienced in LA, and already close with the KOST team. KARI loves music and is totally in touch with the listeners as a working mom with two teenagers."
In other station news, long-time CLEAR CHANNEL AC KOST (103.5)/LOS ANGELES afternoon personality BRYAN SIMMONS exits as the stations moves in a new direction.
SIMMONS was the the first DJ for KOST (103.5) when it launched in 1982. For now, part-timer CHRISTINE MARTINDALE will cover the 2-7p shift. Look for an announcement on SIMMONS replacement to be made soon.
