As tipped in ALL ACCESS (NET NEWS 8/30), CLEAR CHANNEL/PHOENIX has officially christened KYOT as Rhythmic AC "EVA 95-5, THE VALLEY'S OLD SCHOOL STATION." Former 104.7 KISS-FM afternoon host CHINO will handle mornings followed by MELISSA SHARPE from 10a-3p. SANA G. will host afternoons from 3-7p, while SYLVIA CHACON will be heard evenings and TONY EVANS will host overnights.
"We looked at the PHOENIX radio market from high altitude and saw an opportunity for this format to soar," CLEAR CHANNEL/PHOENIX Dir./Programming & Operations SMOKEY RIVERS said, "Early ratings returns indicate that we have successfully woven together a musical tapestry with immense appeal to the multicultural mix of people in the Valley of the Sun. All EVA wants is a button on every radio, a bookmark on every browser, an icon on every mobile device … and EVA is the kind of girl that gets what she wants."
"We are excited to introduce EVA," CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO/PHOENIX Pres./Market Manager JEFF ENGLAND added, "Tastes of listeners in this market are unique, and our research steered us to a custom format solution which we believe fits just right. It is very gratifying to provide a new sound designed exclusively for PHOENIX."
