FCC Extends Reply Comment Deadline In LPFM/Translator Matter

The FCC has extended the deadline for compliance with the new Part 11 rules for the Emergency Alert System from SEPTEMBER 30th, 2011 to JUNE 30th, 2012.
The move follows petitions by broadcasters asking for the delay to allow them to have time to implement Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) into their alert systems.

The FCC has extended the reply comments deadline for its Low Power FM/FM translator proceeding.
The reply comments, originally due September 12th and extended to September 20th due to Hurricane Irene disruptions, will now be due September 27th. The extension came after the Commission received a request from the NAB and EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for another week due to the number of comments filed, the extensive technical exhibits filed with some comments, and the participation by the attorneys for some parties in the NAB and RAB's RADIO SHOW convention in CHICAGO last week
