BONNEVILLE Sports KIRO-A (710 ESPN SEATTLE)/SEATTLE will continue to be the flagship station for SEATTLE MARINERS baseball under a new multi-year agreement. The MARINERS were heard on 710 (then with the Talk format now on FM sister KIRO-F) in 1985-2002, then aired on crosstown FISHER News KOMO-A through 2008 before returning to 710 for the past three seasons. Under the deal, the MARINERS will continue to employ the announcers and producer-engineer for game coverage.
M'S President CHUCK ARMSTRONG said, "Our relationship with BONNEVILLE SEATTLE MEDIA GROUP and 710 ESPN SEATTLE is an important one for our franchise. With its powerful signal and sports format, we are natural partners for baseball fans in the PACIFIC NORTHWEST."
"It has been a pleasure working with the SEATTLE MARINERS for the past three years and we look forward to continuing this partnership in the years to come," said 710 ESPN SEATTLE GM DAVE PRIDEMORE. "Combined with our additional coverage of the team on MyNorthwest.com, we are striving to maintain our status as the number one place for fans to find MARINERS news and information."
