TODAY (9/21) PITTSBURGH COMMUNITY BROADCASTING Triple A WYEP is celebrating ROSEMARY WELSCH‘s 30th anniversary as a host and Senior Producer. To honor her contributions to the station, music from 1981 will be played throughout the day.
WELSCH came to WYEP as a volunteer and was a member of the Board of Directors working to create a format that would thrive. She was the first paid full-time host, and was also the first woman to solo host a morning drive program in PITTSBURGH history. In 1995, she was named PD -- a position she held for many years -- and she has also been named as one of 50 Most Culturally Significant Pittsburghers by the PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE for two years running.
"ROSEMARY is deeply connected to our community," said WYEP GM LEE FERARRO. "She embraces the station’s mission by setting the tone for our work with non-profits, as well as arts and cultural organizations."
