The FCC's "Preserving the Open Internet" net neutrality Report and Order has finally been published in the Federal Register, establishing the effective date for the new rules as NOVEMBER 20th.
The docket, applying a net neutrality philosophy to regulate landline Internet but leaving wireless broadband not subject to the same regulation, was adopted last DECEMBER 21st and released DECEMBER 23rd. FRIDAY's publication opens the docket for legal challenges; VERIZON filed suit in JANUARY to block the order, but the case was dismissed as premature.
