Alberta FM Gets Power Boost OK From CRTC

NEWCAP has received CRTC approval to boost the power of Hot AC CIXF (THE ONE @ 101.1)/BROOKS, AB from 2,200 to 8.600 watts. The move changes the station's class from A to B1.
The agency also approved SALT SPRING ISLAND RADIO CORP. Variety CFSI/SALT SPRING ISLAND, BC's application to add a low-power transmitter at MOUNT BRUCE, BC. The additional transmitter will operate on 102.1 FM with 20 watts, serving the south side of the island.
And the CRTC rejected DUFFERIN COMMUNICATIONS' application for a new FM in MUSKOKA LAKES, ON. DUFFERIN proposed an AC station with 40,000 watts on 104.7 FM.
