FCC Chairman JULIUS GENACHOWSKI has extended an appointment to SHERMAN KIZART, Founder and Managing Director of KIZART MEDIA PARTNERS, to serve on its re-chartered Federal Advisory Committee on Diversity in the Digital Age. This committee provides recommendations to the Commission regarding policies and practices that will further enhance diversity in the industries regulated by the FCC.
“I’m humbled and equally excited about my appointment to serve our country,” said KIZART. “The Diversity Committee continues to do very important work.”
“I look forward to working with KIZART in furthering the interests of diversity in the communications industry, a mission that is critical to the FCC and to the AMERICAN people,” said GENACHOWSKI. “In particular, the Diversity Committee will continue to focus on lowering barriers to entry for historically disadvantaged men and women, exploring ways to ensure universal access to and adoption of broadband, ensuring the widest possible dissemination of information from diverse media sources, and creating an environment that enables employment of a diverse workforce in the media, telecommunications and related fields. “
