ARBITRON contacted their CHICAGO subscribers TODAY (10/4) with a letter explaining the dates when CBS News WBBM-A and then AC WCFS (FRESH) began simulcasting. Wrote ARBITRON:
Dear Arbitron Client:
WBBM-A and WCFS simulcasted all programming, including commercials, throughout the SEPTEMBER 2011 report period. Report users may, therefore, appropriately combine SEPTEMBER 2011 AQH estimates for WBBM-A and WCFS.
Total Line Reporting is available in the SEPTEMBER Radio Market Report for stations simulcasting for the entire SUMMER quarter. Although WBBM-A and WCFS simulcasted throughout the SEPTEMBER 2011 report period, audience estimates for these stations are reported individually in the SEPTEMBER report because the stations began simulcasting after the start of the SUMMER quarter.
ARBITRON will report audience estimates reflecting combined listening to WBBM-A and WCFS, with the call letters WBBM-A, effective with the OCTOBER 2011 report period.
