The FCC has upheld a $10,000 fine issued in 2009 against STEVEN A. SKALECKI for running a pirate station on 92.9 FM in MILWAUKEE. SKALECKI had appealed the fine, requesting an evidentiary hearing on his contention that he did not operate the station, merely running weather monitoring equipment, but that a man named SONNY SOVIATO did so from his home without his knowledge after renting his home "intermittently" and connecting his own computer to a "black box" connected in turn to SKALECKI's weather equipment.
The Commission also sent Notices of Unlicensed Operation to JOHN HARVEY BURROWS III (103.5 FM, OLYMPIA, WA); Rev. ESTEBAN GONZALEZ (100.5 FM, YAKIMA, WA); PROPERTIES WEST (100.5 FM, YAKIMA, WA); FREE RADIO SANTA CRUZ (101.1 FM, SANTA CRUZ, CA); BERKELEY LIBERATION RADIO (104.1 FM, OAKLAND, CA); CHRISTINE BOLGHAND (104.1 FM, OAKLAND, CA); NEAL LANGHOLZ (101.1 FM, SANTA CRUZ, CA); VINCENT A. PERALEZ, SR. (88.3 FM, SOLEDAD, CA); PAUL P. CHACON, JR. (88.3 FM, SALINAS, CA); JESSIE L. FLORES, JR. (88.3 FM, SALINAS, CA); MARTA L. RODRIGUEZ (102.5 FM, SAN FRANCISCO); TOM K. JONES (102.5 FM, SAN FRANCISCO); ARTURO VALLE BENITEZ (87.9 FM, SAN BERNARDINO, CA); and ROBERT F. ZUKOWSKI (94.5 FM, ALBUQUERQUE, NM).
