ARBITRON spent its monthly PPM conference to illustrate that the PPM is running smoothly, as they cited new software, new ways to extrapolate the data and offered a brief update on addressed-based sampling.
Possibly the biggest news of the call was the announcement of a new software being made available TOMORROW. This automatic downloader, available to PPM analysis version 19 subscribers, takes the auto downloader made available last week one step further. The new version has the ability to take weekly data and install that data into analysis tool same way the previous version installed monthly data. Thus, subscribers will get respondent level access to weekly data sooner than the monthly data.
The presentation also showed how to analyze PPM data in geozones to create "custom geographies,: but they were quick to point out that such data not intended to be a reporting tool.
ARBITRON's rollout of its address-based sampling is continuing as planned. A spokesperson noted that the effort, which started in AUGUST, is expected to conclude, as predicted, at the end of the year. The new data from that sampling will be integrated in all the markets at the same time.
