THE GEORGIA RADIO HALL OF FAME honored seventeen GEORGIA radio professionals at it's 5th Annual Induction and Awards Ceremony. Emmy award winning actor and SIRIUS RADIO host JAY THOMAS was the master of ceremonies.
The 2011 Career Achievement inductees are: HARLEY DREW - WGAC/AUGUSTA, STEVE HOLMAN - Voice Of The ATLANTA HAWKS/ATLANTA, DAN MASON, CBS RADIO, MOBY - MOBY IN THE MORNING NETWORK/ALPHARETTA, RANDY & SPIFF - ATLANTA, RICHARD WARNER - WHAT'S UP INTERACTIVE/ATLANTA, BURL WOMACK - retired - SAVANNAH, JOHN YOUNG - JOHN YOUNG PRODUCTIONS.
JIM WESLEY, former COX EVP, SUMMIT BROADCASTING Pres./CEO and co founder and Pres. of PATTERSON BROADCASTING, was honored with the 2011 Founders and Directors Award.
Eight deceased GEORGIA radio professionals were named as 2011 Legacy Inductees: JAMES BROWN - owner - WRDW/AUGUSTA, ERNIE HARWELL - sportscaster - WSB/ATLANTA, JACK HURST - sportscaster - THE ATLANTA FALCONS/ATLANTA, PEPPER MARTIN - sportscaster - WFOM/MARIETTA, BILL MCCLAIN - General Manager -WGKA/ATLANTA, ED MULLINAX - owner - WLAG/LA GRANGE, BEN PORTER - Owner - PIEDMONT COMMUNICATIONS/MACON.
