ADELANTE MEDIA GROUP has hired JOHN LATON to be its MILWAUKEE Market Manager, where the company owns Regional Mexican WDDW and Azteca TV Channel 38. Previously, he was the CLEAR CHANNEL/QUAD CITIES, CEDAR RAPIDS and IOWA CITY VP/Market Manager who resigned after over 10 years with the company (NET NEWS, OCT 14th).
"ADELANTE MEDIA is committed to being the very best broadcast company in the business and the chance to land JOHN LATON, known for his brilliance and extraordinary integrity, moves us much farther toward our goal," ADELANTE COO ED KRAMPF said. "JOHN fits what we’re all about. He’s an independent thinker committed to excellence who is revered by those who work for him and respected by those who compete with him. This is a great day for ADELANTE/MILWAUKEE and the company as a whole."
"When I resigned last week I was planning on taking some time off to figure out what to do next," LATON said. "The first call I got was from ADELANTE CEO JAY MEYERS, who was actually the person who hired me at CLEAR CHANNEL, to ask if I’d like to talk about MILWAUKEE. He told me about what he and ED were building and I knew right away that it was the company for me. I actually get to go to work every day and use my best judgment. My input will not only be respected, but as importantly, expected in this company’s culture. For the first time in a very long time, I will be in control of my own destiny. It’ll be my ball, my bat and my butt and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I look forward to working with ANA BERMUDEZ and the great staff at ADELANTE/MILWAUKEE."
"I’m literally thrilled to have JOHN LATON join ADELANTE as part of the senior management team, said MEYERS. "He is a difference maker and a game changer for our MILWAUKEE group and his input as a member of our senior team will make us a better company. I know he really wanted to take some time off, but when I offered him the chance to trade in his JOHN DEERE for a cold MILLER LIGHT and a couple of brats, I think it was too much to pass up. If you are brilliant at what you do, and want to work for a company that will respect and nurture your talents, that opportunity still exists. It’s at a company called ADELANTE MEDIA GROUP. Check us out!"
