Layoffs have hit CUMULUS' recently-acquired Talk WABC-A and Hot AC WPLJ/NEW YORK. ALL ACCESS hears that up to 15 staffers have been let go, many on the administrative side.
Among the casualties, ALL ACCESS has learned, are WABC Producer JILL VITALE (a/k/a "FLIRTY FLIPPER," former SEAN HANNITY producer), WABC weekend host MANCOW MULLER (who continues with his TALK RADIO NETWORK syndicated morning show), and WPLJ GSM HELEN HAMMEL, night host CHRISTINE RICHIE, and overnighter DAVE STEWART.
STEWART told ALL ACCESS, "My teenage dream was to be a part of NEW YORK CITY radio. The dream was no match for the real thing. The old line is true -- if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. I'm very grateful to SCOTT SHANNON, TOM CUDDY and MIKE PRESTON for helping me do what I love in the greatest city in the world for nearly 22 years. Now, I’m excited to spend more time on my syndicated show, RETROSTARS."
