WESTERN FAMILY TELEVISION, INC. is donating silent noncommercial KANP/ASHTON, ID and KNPC/COLSTRIP, MT to HI-LINE RADIO FELLOWSHIP INC. The donee owns 20 other stations in WYOMING, MONTANA, and NORTH DAKOTA, and its board is identical to that of KALISPELL CHRISTIAN RADIO, which owns one more in MONTANA.
In other filings with the FCC, APPLE 107.1, INC. has applied to move FM translator W292DV/NEW YORK from 106.3 FM to 104.7 FM and its site to the 4 Times Square building. The application was filed as a minor change despite the proposal normally being considered a major change, with the applicant asking for a waiver (filed on FRIDAY on the grounds that "the station is rebroadcasting an HD signal (CLEAR CHANNEL AC WLTW's HD multicast channel), thereby providing this free audio service to many more persons and exposing the benefits of HD radio to new populations, which ultimately will encourage more listeners to invest in HD receivers," plus other technical grounds. The 106.3 facility was taken off the air after complaints from PRESS COMMUNICATIONS, which experienced interference to its Country WKMK (THUNDER 106)/EATONTOWN, NJ.
