DMG RADIO AUSTRALIA Talk 5AA (FIVEaa)/ADELAIDE has been found to be in breach of the radio code of practice by the AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA AUTHORITY.
The station was cited for an edition of LEON BYNER's show that discussed fluoridation and mentioned a client's water filter product, which the ACMA decided constituted a commercial advertisement presented as non-advertising material. "(T)he placement, tone and style of the segment meant that the advertisement was presented as a current affairs program," the organization said in a press release about the decision. The ACMA also said that the station's response to the complaint was inadequate.
The station will be conducting compliance training for on-air and sales staff.
