Former longtime CUMULUS Classic Rock KLOS/LOS ANGELES evening host JIM LADD will get a chance to say goodbye to his listeners after all, but not on KLOS, which dispatched the host who inspired TOM PETTY's song "The Last DJ" after 14 years without a final show.
Instead, crosstown CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES will have LADD filling in for LISA ANN WALTER 4-7p (PT) this SATURDAY (11/5), according to the ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER's GARY LYCAN. LADD, known for his decades hosting his idiosyncratic free-form show on several stations over the years, including the old KNAC, KMET, KMPC-F/KEDG, and KLSX as well as multiple stints at KLOS, appeared this past SATURDAY with WALTER to promote his upcoming fill-in shot.
"JIM is synonymous with great music and SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA and I know a lot of his friends and fans want to connect with him. JIM is a legend and it will be an honor to hear him rock KFI," PD ROBIN BERTOLUCCI told LYCAN in an e-mail.
