CHRISTIAN MUSIC BROADCASTERS (CMB) recently voted to restructure who is eligible to become a member of CMB.
According to new eligibility requirements, CMB membership is open (but not exclusive) to the following list of individuals: employees of radio stations and networks, recording labels, broadcast hardware, software and wireliess companies, para-church organizations, individual consultants, promoters, artists and their managers. In short, any person who embraces the CMB mission and vision can become a members.
In addition, CMB membership terms are annual and based on a calendar year period, JANUARY 1st to DECEMBER 31st. Regardless of when a member joins, his or her membership will expire at the end of the year. All current radio station and network memberships will cease as of DECEMBER 31, 2011.
The CMB Board of Directors has also established two levels of membership: general membership ("silver") and professional membership ("gold"). The "silver" membership allows the members to receive $100 discount to MOMENTUM and reduced registration to any other CMB sponsored event, access to CMB educational calls and webinars with industry leaders, voting for annual CMB Board elections and the ECHO AWARDS, and summary reports of CMB sponsored research projects. The "gold" membership is similar to the "silver" membership in addition to inclusion as a CMB mentoring resource and advisory team member.
The cost of CMB "silver" membership is $110 from JANUARY 3rd to FEBRUARY 17th and $125 from FEBRUARY 18th to DECEMBER 31st. The cost of CMB "gold" membership is $799 from JANUARY 3rd to FEBRUARY 17th and $899 from FEBRUARY 18th to DECEMBER 31st. In situations where current member radio stations and networks provide memberships for their employees, depending on the number of interested people within a radio station wishing to become members, most will see negligible change or a small reduction of payment.
