When listeners of RTN Contemporary Christian WVFJ (J93.3)/ATLANTA tune in the morning of DECEMBER 1st, they will hear CHRISTMAS music, but also all-new programming.
The day will start with "THE MORNING CRUISE," the morning show of THE JOY FM network of SOUTHWEST, CENTRAL and NORTH FLORIDA. Hosts DAVE CRUSE, BILL MARTIN and CARMEN BROWN will air live simultaneously on THE JOY FM stations in FLORIDA and ATLANTA.
WJIS, the network hub in SARASOTA, FL, will supply music and targeted programming to WVFJ. In ATLANTA the lineup will include two network personalities: "THE MORNING CRUISE" from 6-10a (ET) and JAYAR from 10a-3p. Afternoons will be covered by the new team of veterans JERRY WILLIAMS and SHANNON STEELE. Previous WVFJ morning host WILLIAMS moves to afternoons, joined by STEELE who most previously served at EMI CHRISTIAN MUSIC GROUP and earlier at COMMUNITY EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING Contemporary Christian KDUV/VISALIA, CA. Evenings will continue to be hosted by PAIGE LONG.
Coming to THE JOY FM is a full-circle move for STEELE: "I started my journey in Christian radio in my hometown, BIRMINGHAM. From there, I worked for stations in ALBUQUERQUE and FRESNO. After spending 12 years in radio, I went to work for a record label in NASHVILLE and had the honor of working with many of the artists heard on THE JOY FM. I'll always treasure my time working with those artists, but radio is my calling and I'm excited to join THE JOY FM in ATLANTA!"
WILLIAMS and STEELE will host their first afternoon show together on DECEMBER 1st, the same day that "THE MORNING CRUISE" debuts in ATLANTA.
