Some of the radio industry's biggest executives are joining together with the WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT 2012, presented by ALL ACCESS and A&R WORLDWIDE, as part of the must-see keynote session, "EMBRACING RADIO's FUTURE," on FRIDAY, APRIL 27th at 9a, at the W HOTEL in HOLLYWOOD. Here are the players:
LEW DICKEY: The CUMULUS MEDIA Chairman/CEO has recently pulled off the largest radio transaction in recent history with the purchase of CITADEL MEDIA and is now the second largest radio group, operating 570 stations in 120 U.S. markets as well as a radio network serving over 4,500 stations nationwide.
Still in the midst of aligning staff, and implementing CUMULUS' culture and operations with the CITADEL stations, DICKEY will share his insights on how he's shaping CUMULUS for the future, and where CUMULUS sees itself in the next five years with broadcast, digital and social media.
PETER SMYTH: The GREATER MEDIA Chairman/CEO oversees the operation of 23 AM and FM radio stations in BOSTON, CHARLOTTE, DETROIT, PHILADELPHIA and NEW JERSEY; a group of weekly newspapers in central NEW JERSEY; and several telecommunications towers throughout the U.S.
With a wide variety of radio formats at some very successful stations, SMYTH will offer thoughts on growing his company in challenging financial times, and what to do and not do in the face of fresh competition such as what's taking place in DETROIT with a frontal attack by CLEAR CHANNEL.
SCOTT HERMAN: As CBS RADIO EVP/Operations, HERMAN is responsible for 76 stations in 18 markets and oversees the CBS stations in ATLANTA, SEATTLE, PHOENIX, MINNEAPOLIS, SAN DIEGO, TAMPA, ST. LOUIS, BALTIMORE, PITTSBURGH, CHARLOTTE, RIVERSIDE, SACRAMENTO, CLEVELAND, LAS VEGAS, ORLANDO, WEST PALM BEACH and HARTFORD. He also works with the CBS News/Talk stations and assists CBS RADIO Pres./CEO DAN MASON in NEW YORK, L.A., CHICAGO, SAN FRANCISCO, BOSTON, DALLAS, DETROIT, WASHINGTON DC, PHILADELPHIA and HOUSTON.
HERMAN will have lots to say about his company's aggressive digital and social media models, as well as the migration of news to FM, and how CBS, in the not too distant past was looking to sell radio stations, and is now bullish on radio's future.
MIKE AGOVINO: TRITON DIGITAL's COO will moderate this important session. His company's DIAL-GLOBAL NETWORKS just recently finished its merger with WESTWOOD ONE. Together, this creates a diverse radio programming, services and advertising sales company providing more than 200 radio programs and services to over 7,000 stations.
AGOVINO already rides herd on a stable of widely digital properties and service in audio, video, mobile, database and listener loyalty and engagement at TRITON DIGITAL, and he will have some hardball questions for DICKEY, SMYTH and HERMAN ... all designed to show you where radio is headed, and how you can thrive and be part of the success.
Townhall Meeting Begins At 10a
Following the keynote session, DICKEY, SMYTH, HERMAN, and AGOVINO will all stick around for some Q&A from the audience in a TOWNHALL MEETING. Anything and everything is open for discussion. Make sure that you're on hand!
