An Austin tradition returns November 25th with EMMIS Triple A KGSR/AUSTIN’s Broadcasts Vol. 19. The limited-edition double-disc set features 41 exclusive live performances, including FOSTER THE PEOPLE, MUMFORD & SONS, THE HEAD AND THE HEART, AMOS LEE, RAY LAMONTAGNE, BOB SCHNEIDER, SARAH JAROSZ and others. The disc is being sold at various locations around AUSTIN and will again benefit the SIMS Foundation, which offers low cost mental health services to local musicians.
CUMULUS Triple A KFOG/SAN FRANCISCO has just released LIVE FROM THE ARCHIVES 18 with proceeds to benefit the BAY AREA FOOD BAND. Sold exclusively at PEET'S COFFEE & TEA, it features live performance from SNOW PATROL, SARA BAREILLES, BRETT DENNEN, MELISSA ETHERIDGE, MAT KEARNEY, MATT NATHANSON, SCARS ON 45, KOOKS, IRON & WINE and others.
MINNESOTA PUBLIC RADIO Triple A KCMP (THE CURRENT)/MINNAPOLIS has just wrapped up their fall fund drive and one of the premiums they were offering was their LIVE CURRENT VOLUME 7 CD. The disc features artists such as BAND OF HORSES, THE NATIONAL, BROKEN BELLS, LISSIE, ATMOSPHERE, JESSICA LEA MAYFIELD, J. MASCIS and others.
CLEAR CHANNEL Triple A KTCZ (CITIES 97)/MINEAPOLIS annual CITIES 97 SAMPLER of live performances will be released on NOVEVEMBER 17th. The 23rd volume features artists such as ADELE, AMOS LEE, FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE, THE HEAD & THE HEART, RAY LAMONTAGNE, MUMFORD & SONS and others. Sold exclusively at TARGET, 100% of the proceeds from the disc go to MINNESOTA charities raising nearly $800,000 annually for adults, animals and children in need.
ENTERCOM Triple A KMTT (THE MONTAIN)/SEATTLE’s MOUNTAIN MUSIC LOUNGE VOL 17just became available on NOVEMBER 8th at all local REI stores, with proceeds to benefit THE WILDERNESS SOCIETY. This year the station held a contest for the album cover artwork and they had a CD listening party featuring SHAWEN MULLINS and MIKE DOUGHTY.
SARKES TARZIAN Triple A WTTS/INDIANPOLIS also held a cover artwork contest for its annual COLLECTOR’S EDITION sampler -- this year it will be volume 17! Proceeds benefit ROCK TO READ, supporting children’s reading programs through the INDIANAPOLIS PUBLIC LIBRARY, and will also benefit MOTHER HUBBARD’S CUPBOARD, a BLOOMINGTON-based food pantry. Artists include MATT NATHANSON, BRETT DENNEN, KT TUNSTALL, MY MORNING JACKET, SAM ROBERTS BAND and SCARS ON 45.
FORHAM UNVIERSITY Triple A WFUV/NEW YORK used its LIVE 14 CD as a premium during it fall fund drive. Curated by station MD RITA HOUSTON, it featured exclusive live performances from BLACK JOE LEWIS & THE HONEYBEARS, DAVID WAX MUSEUM, EDIE BRICKELL, GIVERS, THE MOUNTAIN GOATS and THE RAVEONETTES, among others.
CLEAR CHANNEL Triple A KBCO/DENVER’s Studio C Volume 23 features19 live, in-studio recordings and includes artists such as RYAN ADAMS, MICHAEL FRANTI & SPEARHEAD, THE DECEMBERISTS, KEB MO, TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND and others. It goes on sale DECEMBER 3rd, with proceeds benefiting the BOULDER COUNTY AIDS PROJECT and FOOD BANK OF THE ROCKIES.
ENTERCOM Triple A WMMM/MADISON’s Live From Studio M Volume 7 is coming in early DECEMBER. It features artists such as COLBIE CAILLAT, HEAD AND THE HEART, MATT NATHANSON, FITZ & THE TANTRUMS and others. Proceeds from the sales will benefit the WISCONSIN SCHOOL MUSIC ASSOCIATION.
