Price For CBS WFSI/Annapolis-Washington Purchase: $8.5 Million

The price for the purchase of Religion WFSI/ANNAPOLIS, MD by CBS RADIO STATIONS INC. from FAMILY STATIONS is $8.5 million, according to the contract filed with the FCC. CBS announced WEDNESDAY (NET NEWS 11/16) that it is buying WFSI, moving the format of Tropical WLZL (EL ZOL 99.1 FM)/ANNAPOLIS-WASHINGTON to the station's 107.9 FM dial position, and launching an all-News format on WLZL's former 99.1 FM slot, now licensed to BOWIE, MD, on DECEMBER 1st.
In other filings with the FCC, ART ASTOR's NORTH COUNTY BROADCASTING CORP. is selling Business KCEO-A/VISTA-SAN DIEGO to religious station operator IHR EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING for $2.75 million.
LIBERTY UNIVERSITY, INC. is swapping FM translator W249BM/NEWPORT NEWS, VA to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION in exchange for W245BB/NEWPORT NEWS and W293AX/ROANOKE.
EDGEWATER BROADCASTING, INC. is selling FM translator W229AP/ROTHSCHILD, WI to WRIG, INC. for $27,000.
NEW MEDIA RADIO, LLC is selling its 80% interest in WESTPORT RADIO PARTNERS, LLC, licensee of Variety WXMR (RADIO BISTRO)/PLATTSBURGH WEST, NY, to JOSE ORTIZ Y PINO for $20.
And TWIN PEAKS RADIO, LLC has applied for a Silent STA for KPHD/ELKO, NV, saying that its "alternative site was made available for only a few days by landlord. Claimed RF was high."
