GREATER MEDIA Sports WPEN-A-F (97.5 THE FANATIC)/PHILADELPHIA is raising money for the CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF PHILADELPHIA with a series of events featuring former FLYERS stars ERIC LINDROS and JOHN LECLAIR.
LINDROS and LECLAIR will take part in a charity luncheon for 150 people at MORTON'S THE STEAKHOUSE in CENTER CITY PHILADELPHIA on DECEMBER 15th, followed the next day by a two hour public signing at GRANITE RUN MALL in MEDIA, PA. The events will be promoted with a special two-hour appearance on MIKE MISSANELLI's afternoon show on DECEMBER 14th.
"I am really looking forward to coming back to PHILADELPHIA and to have the opportunity to give back to the community where I began my career. I have not set foot in PHILLY in a long time. This is a big deal to me," said LINDROS, whose tenure with the FLYERS was marked by injury and battles with management. "CHOP has always held a special place in my heart, and I am excited to contribute to their excellence and to spend time with the kids."
"I have always been a big supporter of CHOP and feel fortunate to reunite with ERIC for such a great cause," said LECLAIR. "Having remained in the area with my family, I am more than happy to put together this event to support the place we call home."
"We are thrilled that ERIC and JOHN have decided to donate their time to raise funds for CHOP. They both were great to us during their playing days in PHILADELPHIA and we're excited to have them back again," said CHOP Director of Event Fundraising and Community Partnerships MAUREEN MASON.
PD MATT NAHIGIAN said, "It's really going to be great. For ERIC and JOHN to partner with the station and to do so for a terrific cause such as CHOP is really tremendous. I know the listeners will enjoy the opportunity to attend these events. We're very excited."
