UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA Triple A WXPN/PHILADELPHIA debuted a new quarterly series TODAY (11/2) called SENSE OF PLACE. The show will air on the nationally syndicated show WORLD CAFE.
The series gives listeners an insider’s view of a city’s music scene through the eyes of musicians and other prominent community figures. The first installment will feature DUBLIN, IRELAND and run on-air through FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2nd.
SENSE OF PLACE also features a highly interactive digital experience on XPN’s website. The site includes a map with videos, important clubs, pubs, restaurants, historical sites and recommendations for what to see and do in a particular city.
"Music brings a city’s culture to life," said host DAVID DYE. "In SENSE OF PLACE, we showcase a city’s culture through the unique point of view of those who live and breathe the city’s music scene. We’re excited for our listeners to experience DUBLIN’s rich history and current musical landscape through the first installment of our new series."
Future installments will highlight PORTLAND, OR, LONDON and NEW ORLEANS, among others.
