Shocker! After 17-plus years as PD at legendary Top 40 KDWB/MINNEAPOLIS, and later adding OM/PD duties for KDWB and N/T KTCN-A (NEWS TALK 1130, formerly KTLK-F NEWS TALK 100.3), ROB MORRIS has announced his departure from the company. His departure coincides with the expiration of his contract on DECEMBER 31st.
"I am very thankful for having 17-plus GREAT years at KDWB and the last five overseeing KTLK/KTCN working with many wonderful people. I will be moving on to new opportunities after the first of the year. Looking forward to the holidays and ringing the New Year in with a bang in 2012."
CLEAR CHANNEL/MINNEAPOLIS OM and Country KEEY PD GREGG SWEDBERG told ALL ACCESS, "We have been unable to reach a contract agreement with ROB and at the end of the contract on DECEMBER 31st, ROB will no longer be with us. Having worked with ROB for the last decade-plus, I'm personally very saddened to see that we couldn't come to an agreement. If you need a partner to win ratings with, he's the guy you want at your side. I will really miss working with ROB."
If MORRIS decides to stay in the TWIN CITIES market, he will likely have to sit out for six months to work through a non-compete in his expiring contract.
