BILL LEFF is in and the long-running married team of STEVE KING and JOHNNIE PUTMAN are out in the overnight hours at TRIBUNE Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO. STEVE and JOHNNIE will do their final show after 26 years on the station on FRIDAY (12/9) with a retrospective edition; LEFF was originally announced as the new 5-5:30a host on WGN as a lead-in to JONATHON BRANDMEIER's new morning show.
"STEVE and JOHNNIE have been an integral part of WGN Radio's rich history and trusted friends and voices to thousands of listeners over the years," said VP/GM TOM LANGMYER. "We are so thankful for their dedicated companionship and service to our listeners. They will be missed." In the press release, KING and PUTMAN said they look forward to "closing out our broadcast career and moving on to new broadcast challenges, including a television show, completing book projects and learning to sleep nights."
On LEFF, LANGMYER added, "We're excited that BILL LEFF will be joining the station full-time to carry on STEVE and JOHNNIE's tradition of live and local overnight talk on WGN Radio."
