IAN PUNNETT is stepping down from his SATURDAY hosting duties for PREMIERE NETWORKS' "COAST TO COAST AM" and will be replaced on JANUARY 7th by longtime "COAST TO COAST" fill-in host JOHN B. WELLS.
PUNNETT announced this weekend that he is exiting the show to seek treatment for a debilitating case of tinnitus and that he will drop the SATURDAY show after DECEMBER 31st, but will continue hosting on the second SUNDAY of each month, with weeknight host GEORGE NOORY taking the first SUNDAY and CBS affiliate KLAS-TV/LAS VEGAS reporter GEORGE KNAPP taking the third and fourth SUNDAYS. PUNNETT wil also continue to host mornings, with wife MARGERY, on HUBBARD Talk KTMY (MYTALK 107.1)/MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL.
WELLS said, "Spending SATURDAY nights talking to millions of COAST TO COAST fans is a dream come true. After guest hosting the show off and on for the last few years, it's a real honor to officially join the COAST TO COAST and PREMIERE NETWORKS crew. This is going to be a lot of fun and a real adventure!"
PUNNETT said, "While nobody likes to leave a show they love, I'm grateful to remain a part of the COAST TO COAST family. I take pride in knowing that by stepping aside on Saturdays, I can give an opportunity to a worthy replacement in JOHN B. WELLS."
