CUMULUS Talk WMAL-A-F/WASHINGTON's 8th Annual WMAL FISHER HOUSE Radiothon this weekend raised $255,900 to support the organization which provides temporary housing near Veterans Administration hospitals for families of wounded soldiers. Morning hosts BRIAN WILSON, MARY KATHARINE HAM, and BRYAN NEHMAN and midday host CHRIS PLANTE were among the station staffers who pitched in to raise over twice the amount from last year's event.
"WMAL's listeners have contributed more than $3.7 million over the past eight years through fund drives and events", said PD BILL HESS. "It's a cause about which we -- and our very supportive listeners -- feel quite strongly."
