The SACRAMENTO KINGS and CBS RADIO Sports KHTK-A (1140 THE FAN)/SACRAMENTO have inked a five year deal for the station to continue to air the NBA franchise's games. KHTK PD DON GERONIMO announced the new deal on his morning show TODAY (12/6); GARY GEROULD will return for his 26th season calling the team's games, while THE FAN's afternoon host GRANT NAPEAR will continue as the KINGS' TV play-by-play voice.
The KINGS, who have been frustrated by the city's inability to strike a deal to build a new arena to replace POWER BALANCE PAVILION (formerly ARCO ARENA), were close to moving to ANAHEIM after last season until a campaign started by KHTK midday host and GERONIMO sidekick CARMICHAEL DAVE led to the team agreeing to stay at least one more season in SACRAMENTO while an arena deal is negotiated.
