CBS RADIO's KVFG/VICTORVILLE, CA, which has been stunting with CHRISTMAS music since NOVEMBER 15 after a stint with a Sports format, will flip on DECEMBER 26th at 6a (PT) to a Classic Hits format as "THE ROUTE AT 103.1." The station is positioning itself as a station with music tied to the HIGH DESERT and VICTOR VALLEY's affinity for ROUTE 66, which ran through the area.
Marke veteran STEVE ELLIOTT will host mornings on the station, and other voices on the station will include JJ MCKAY, BRAD PIERCE, PETER MCLAINE, MIKE SHAW and BRUCE CHANDLER.
Market Manager HARVEY WELLS said, "When I think of ROUTE 66, I think of SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, fast cars and the music that we all know and love. THE ROUTE is going to bring back songs and memories from a time when hitting the road in AMERICA was more than just interstate highways and chain motels."
