Chicago-based heavy rock band, Soil have just released their newest single entitled "Gimme Some Lovin" via Pavement music. The song will be on their latest release, "Scream: The Essentials" which is set to release on September 15. The track is a remastered edition of the 1980’s rhythm-and-blues song, "Gimme Some Lovin" –with an added hard rock touch – which originally debuted in the cult classic motion picture "The Blues Brothers".
Vocalist Ryan McCombs had this to say of the single: "Vocally, I really had a good time with the song, it was a bit left field to what I’m accustomed to singing, but with the added touches we put on it, the song fell right into place."
Soil was formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1997. The band first achieved major notoriety for their major label debut of, “Scars”, in 2001 through J Records. Through the years the band has had a few lineup changes. In late 2004 front man, Ryan McCombs left the group only to return years later. The line-up currently consists of Tim King (Bass), Adam Zadel (Guitar), Ryan McCombs (Vocals), and Mitch Gable (Drums).
